This book is a fine example of where historical fiction and what I call norse fantasy blend seemlessly together. It is only during reading it and believing it's the first genre that you realise it has subtle elements of the latter. Due to this conflicting nature I had to google the placename which is the key location for the book to make sure if it was based on historical fact or not. Read my full and more thorough review to decide if you dare try this tale or not...
